The Masked Singer: Fans work out identity of Robin - and it’s not Aston Merrygold

Fans of The Masked Singer have finally cracked the identity of Robin following a post on Twitter which seems to have revealed all, and it turns out it may not be JLS’ Aston Merrygold like previously thought.

The ITV1 show sees a panel have to guess who is ‘under the mask’ of different mascots that perform a song and give clues each week.

Robin is one of the stars, alongside Badger, Bush Baby, Viking, The Blob, and Sausage.

As Birmingham Live reports, last night we saw two of the stars axed from the competition as guest judge Alan Carr was introduced to the panel to have his say on the show.

The comedian and Chatty Man star was on the panel alongside the likes of Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall.

The Masked Singer is back for a second series (PA)

Last night’s episode saw Viking and Blob unmasked as Morten Harket and Lenny Henry. Robin was saved by the public.

And viewers reckon they have deduced who Robin is after a celebrity's Twitter post.

Aston from JLS is leading the betting, with football-related clues leading many to believe it is somebody who has played in Soccer Aid.

Olly Murs is also a potential candidate, viewers say.

But it could be Nicky Byrne, it turns out, after eagle eyed fans spotted his Twitter post this week.

Following last week's episode, Nicky uploaded a video of a robin in a bush and captioned it: "Look at this little fella I saw today! #cute."

Prior to Westlife Nicky was a professional footballer playing for Leeds United.

The Masked Singer is available to catch up on ITV1 and the ITV Hub - and returns next Saturday.
