The Masked Dancer's Llama sparks panel confusion with Line of Duty clue

The Masked Dancer panel were thrown a huge curveball on Monday night when it appeared that Llama outed themselves as a Line of Duty star.

After making a highly entertaining debut with some Bob Fosse-esque moves to the Austin Powers theme tune on Saturday night's first episode, Llama was back in shape throwing action on episode 3 when they graced the stage for a Bridgerton themed reinvention of Billie Eilish hit Bad Guy.

But it was something in the clue package before the song had even started that landed on the judges' radar, when the words AC-12 appeared in the background.

Now, unless you've been hiding under a rock of late, you'll know that is the name of the crime fighting organisation in Line of Duty, leading panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and newcomer Oti Mabuse to think that there was a definite link to the hit BBC drama.

Current Line of Duty cast member Vicky McLure and former star Keeley Hawes' names were both thrown into the mix and with another clue hinting at Llama being a 'northern drama queen', Vicky was put firmly into the frame.

Reacting to the AC-12 clue, one viewer tweeted: "not vicky and keeley being guessed on the masked dancer..i would SCREAM" and another posting: "If @Vicky _McClure is on the masked dancer I’m going to lose my f**in head."

A third Twitter user who hadn't yet watched The Masked Dancer reacted: "i told myself that i’d never watch the masked singer/dancer but now that there’s the slightest chance that vicky could be on it i’m this close to turning on my tv and watching it right now"

While drawn to the Vicky McLure idea, Davina McCall also guessed at Patsy Kensit for Llama, while a 'Wooly' clue, combined with the northern drama queen confession, sparked speculation it could be a star of Emmerdale hiding in the disguise.
