Just days after the Super Nintendo World theme park in Osaka was announced to open this summer 2020, Orlando Universal Resorts has revealed an opening date for a Florida version in 2023.
Mario and his friends will join the fourth Epic Universe theme park in Universal Resorts, on a 750-acre (304-hectares) area, just a few miles from the current parks of Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay.
Currently under construction, this added extension will allow the overall resort to double its size.
As a result, Comcast has planned for more than 14,000 new employees to be recruited and added to the current workforce of 25,000 people.
Officials also promised them a starting minimum wage of $15 an hour.

The American park will follow the same concept as its Japanese counterpart, allowing visitors to experience Super Mario’s Mushroom Kingdom in real life, for a new immersive adventure between the physical and the digital world.
Visitors will be allowed to play with wristbands connected to an app on their phone - the Power Up bands - to collect coins in question boxes, exactly like the famous pixelated Italian plumber.
They will also be able to compete or join forces with other visitors to defeat bosses.
Another park is expected to open at Universal Studio Hollywood, but no launch date has been announced yet.
