Lucas Moura has said that Tottenham must learn from the example of Marine in their pursuit of a trophy this season.
Spurs made it through to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 5-0 win against eighth-tier side Marine, with Carlos Vinicius netting a hat-trick for Jose Mourinho's men in the third round tie.
Marine held their own early on though and gave Spurs something of a scare when Neil Kengni struck the crossbar from 25 yards when the game was goalless.
But after Vinicius opened the scoring in the 24th minute, Spurs did not look back, with the Brazilian going on to score a hat-trick.
His compatriot Moura also got on the scoresheet with a fine free kick, while 16-year-old Alfie Devine rounded off the scoring as he netted on his Spurs debut, having become the club's youngest player when coming off the bench.
But Moura insists that while there was a sizeable gulf between the two sides in terms of status, there were still things Tottenham could learn from their opponents and how they approached the game.
“We need to learn with every game and today was a different game for us," he said, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live.
"They fight for every ball and it needs to give us good motivation for the rest of the season.
“Of course we want to win a trophy and we are very capable, so let’s see what we can do this season.
“Our objective this season is to win a trophy, and I think we have a very good squad and we are able to fight for every trophy. Let’s try.”
Meanwhile, Moura said he was pleased for his team-mate Carlos Vinicius, who took his goalscoring tally to six in nine appearances for Spurs since making the move from Benfica.
“I’m very happy. Today was a different day, it was new for us to play against them," Moura added.
"But we came here with big respect and the mentality to win and to get to the next round. I think we did well, I’m very happy.
“It’s not easy because they’re very tall, but let’s prepare for the next one, the next game. I’m very happy today, I’m very happy for my friend Vinnie, and let’s get ready for the next game.
“His (Vinicius) English is improving. I’m happy for him because he works very hard everyday, he deserves it - that’s his job."
