The Marcus Rashford stat that proves Manchester United striker is world class

Marcus Rashford took his Premier League tally for the season to 12 with a scruffy finish against Burnley on Saturday night.

The Manchester United forward has 18 goals in all competitions this season, with his league number bettered only by Jamie Vardy at the moment.

In fact, as indicated by 'Statman Dave' on Twitter, Rashford's numbers for goal contributions this season (16 in the league) surpass some of the game's greatest players.

He has been directly involved in more league goals than Sadio Mane, Kylian Mbappe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Harry Kane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Roberto Firmino this season.

Rashford has kicked on under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, already surpassing his previous best tally for the campaign. He spoke after the 2-0 win over Burnley about the team needing to show more consistency this season.

“We’ve struggled to get back-to-back wins in the league, but it’s about keeping that momentum, keeping going forward and getting used to winning,” Rashford said.

“We’re not going to win every game prettily, it’s impossible in this league, so we’re going to have to grind some results out and today was one of those games.

“We take the three points and we move on and keep trying to improve.”
