The Marcelo Bielsa 'philosophy' that brought Jean-Kevin Augustin to Leeds United

Leeds United forward Jean-Kevin Augustin has admitted that he jumped at the chance to come and work with Marcelo Bielsa, with the Argentine playing a key part in his decision to come to Elland Road.

The former France youth international has linked up with the Whites on a loan deal from RB Leipzig after cutting short a similar stay in Monaco in order to join.

Augustin was on hand to see his new side complete a remarkable comeback win against Millwall last Tuesday evening before spending Saturday working on his fitness at Thorp Arch.

Speaking in his first media conference afterwards, the ex-Paris Saint-Germain attacker admitted that the former Marseille and Lille boss' pedigree precedes him and that the draw to play for Bielsa helped swing his move to West Yorkshire over other prospective bids.

"Obviously the coach is highly respected in the world of football," Augustin noted. "I was very much aware of him from his time coaching in France.

"You can say, wherever he has gone really, he has earned the respect of fans and clubs alike. He's got a very particular and individual philosophy on the game so I certainly had a huge desire to want to come and play for him and play with him."

Augustin could be in line to feature as soon as this weekend's Championship match with Wigan Athletic, as Leeds look to preserve their spot at the summit of the second tier at the start of February.
