The Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal results Cardiff City fans want in battle to stay in the Premier League

The Premier League has well and truly entered the business end of the season.

Three games remain with the league title, top four places, Europa League spots and relegation between Cardiff City and Brighton still to play for.

Cardiff currently sit 18th, three points behind Brighton and with an inferior goal difference.

But it's still everything to play for.

These are the games Cardiff City fans need to be looking out for in the closing weeks of the campaign as they seek a helping hand from others in their battle to avoid the drop.

Cardiff's three games

On paper, Neil Warnock's Bluebirds have an easier run-in than Brighton. They travel to Craven Cottage to play Fulham this weekend, hoping to pick up a win to go level on points with Brighton.

Then it's Crystal Palace at home the following Saturday (5.30pm kick-off) with a Sunday May 12 finale against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Every game that day kicks off at 3pm.

Three wins out of three and Cardiff will be okay on 40 points. But that's an enormous ask.

Realistically the Bluebirds need to beat Fulham and Palace and hope that will prove enough by taking them to 37 points.

But for that to be the case, they need Brighton not to win.

Cardiff City can be as big as Newcastle United with enormous gates if they stay up and become established in Premier League

Brighton's three games

Chris Hughon's side welcome Newcastle to the AMEX stadium in the evening kick-off on Saturday. If they win and Cardiff have lost, in effect the Bluebirds are down.

However,  a win for Cardiff earlier in the day will put huge pressure on the Seagulls to match that result.

The following weekend Brighton go to Arsenal (Sunday May 5 at 4.30pm). They wind up on May 12 at home to Manchester City.

Bluebirds fans will be hoping Arsenal can win to cement a top four spot and Man City need to triumph to win the title on the final day.

Other games to look out for

Manchester United v Chelsea - Sunday, 4.30pm

If United lose this one, it will more or less be confirmed that they will miss out on a Champions League place due to inferior goal difference. Cardiff fans will hope for a Chelsea win, to leave United with nothing to play for when the Bluebirds head to Old Trafford - apart from their pride, which has been damaged in recent weeks.

Leicester v Arsenal - Sunday, noon

The opposite of what Cardiff fans want from Man Utd. Victory for Arsenal will keep them in the race for a top four spot, meaning they will need to win again against Brighton the following week. Cardiff will be hoping that Unai Emery's men can get the three points here after embarrassing losses to Crystal Palace and Wolves this past week.

Burnley v Man City - Sunday, 2.05pm and Man City v Leicester - Mon May 6, 8pm

Any result for Man City will be of interest to Brighton, and Cardiff fans. They meet Burnley and Leicester before heading to Brighton on the final day.

Lose to Burnley or Leicester and they may become desperate to beat the Seagulls on the final day, which is what Cardiff need. Win, and depending upon Liverpool's results, they could already be champions by the time they visit the AMEX.

Which is the last thing Cardiff need. Hence...

Liverpool's games

Jurgen Klopp's aces still think they can nick the title and meet Huddersfield at Anfield on Friday night, followed by Newcastle away on Saturday May 4 (7.45pm) and Wolves at home on the final day.

Presuming Man City keep on winning, which is to be expected, basically Cardiff also need Liverpool to triumph in every game to keep up the pressure. That would ensure Man City have to win at Brighton on the final day to guarantee the title and can't be on the beach that afternoon, so to speak.
