The Manchester United deadline day transfer West Ham will derail with Jarrod Bowen deal

West Ham United are closing in on a deal for Hull City forward Jarrod Bowen, according to reports.

The Athletic are reporting that the 23-year-old is currently heading to London to complete a lunchtime medical with the Hammers after they agreed a £14 million plus £8 million add-on fee with Hull City for the player.

Crystal Palace seemed to be in pole position for Bowen, but it is claimed that the player preferred a move to West Ham, allowing David Moyes' side to overtake the Eagles in the race.

Bowen has impressed for Hull over the last two seasons, scoring 16 goals in 29 games so far this campaign, which has led to a lot of interest in the player.

But it's not just the teams seemingly missing out on Bowen who the deal could affect during deadline day.

Reports claim that Manchester United have failed in a bid to take Bournemouth striker Josh King to Old Trafford in the final day of the window.

According to the Athletic, Bournemouth will not sell the Norwegian international unless they have a replacement coming in.

One of the targets for a potential replacement was Bowen, who now looks set to join West Ham, meaning that any move the Red Devils make for King are expected to be rejected by the Cherries.

Should a move be complete, Bowen will hope to make his debut in the Premier League match against Brighton on Saturday.
