The Manchester pubs, bars and restaurants paying tribute to the Queen

Following the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I I yesterday, at the age of 96, the country is now in mourning for the only ruling monarch most of us will have even known. Many will be closing their businesses out of respect for the sombre occasion, and a lot of Manchester’s restaurants, bars, pubs and hotels have joined in paying tributes.

The French at the Midland Hotel said: “We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen. She faithfully served the United Kingdom & the Commonwealth over seven remarkable decades on the throne & leaves a lasting legacy. We extend our heartfelt condolences to The Royal Family.”

Over at Gary Neville’s Stock Exchange Hotel, they offered ‘our sincere condolences to the Royal Family, and people across the world, who mourn the loss of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth ll’.

Added the King Street Townhouse: "On behalf of everyone at the King Street Townhouse, we send our sincere and deepest condolences to the Royal Family as they mourn the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II after a lifetime of service. We will be thinking of them at this difficult time."

Impossible, the Peter Street bar and club, delivered a message on its cinema-style awning of 'The best to ever do it, HRH Elizabeth II'. Adding in an Instagram post: "A leader, a lady, elegant and true... a role model for us all, our Queen through and through."

Asha's and the entire team extends its heartfelt condolence to the Royal Family at this sad time."

Their comments were mirrored by San Carlo Restaurants Group, who operate numerous venues across the city, who said: "We stand with the entire nation; deeply saddened by the passing of the Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty stood as a steadfast symbol of reassurance during her remarkable reign.

Rooftop restaurant and bar, 20 Stories, shared a post to their Instagram page this morning describing the Queen as a "phenomenal woman with an exceptional legacy", while The Refuge wrote, "we are grateful for the extraordinary service she gave to the UK and Commonwealth over so many years".

Others, like Federal Cafe & Bar shared images to their story of the advertising boards throughout the city, which have been replaced with photographs of Her Majesty, with the caption '1996-2022'.
