The Man Utd WhatsApp group chat joke about Daniel James when he signed from Swansea City

Manchester United's Daniel James has enjoyed a stunning start to life at Old Trafford.

And it appears he was made to feel at home straight away, getting involved with the players' group chat banter.

The young Welshman moved to United in an £18million transfer from Swansea City in the summer and he hasn't looked back since.

His new team-mates welcomed him with open arms - and a bit of stick, too.

James was pictured driving into Carrington on his first day at the club.

"I think a photograph got taken the first day I drove my car in," he  told Sky Sports.

"I think it was Andreas [Pereira] who put it in the chat.

"I think I was just over the steering wheel - but it was because I was looking left and right!

"Ever since then the boys have said I need a booster seat for the car."

In a wide-ranging interview with Sky's Tubes, James was asked a number of quick-fire questions about his new team-mates.

The hardest player?

"It's got to be Marcos (Rojo)," he said.

"He's Argentinean, hard as. I don't think anyone wants to go near him in training or on the pitch."

James is renowned for his pace, terrorising defenders and backlines. Is he the fastest at the club?

"All the boys say me, to be fair," he said.

"Sometimes I don't think I'm as quick as people say, when you look at me and Marcus, he always says I'm quicker but I know a few of the boys have said about having a race. Maybe one day we will."

Would he win? "Yeah, probably just edge it," he added with a grin.
