The Man Utd Paul Pogba-Gareth Bale planned transfer swap deal and the confusing message coming out of Spain

Real Madrid want to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United to add to the capture of Chelsea's Eden Hazard - and plan to throw Gareth Bale in to get the deal done.

Los Blancos got the Hazard transfer over the line on Friday night, in a move that will see the Belgian switch to the Spanish capital for a cool £88million.

His arrival at the Bernabeu throws even more doubt on Bale's future under Zinedine Zidane, who wants to make Pogba his next signing.

In a move reminiscent of the Galaticos era, Real are planning a dramatic transformation under Frenchman Zidane, whose friction-dominated rapport with Bale has been well-documented.

Pogba would cost Real around £130million, but chiefs hope that with Bale thrown into any transfer that the deal could get sorted.

The Welshman has three years left on his deal in Spain, with his astronomical wages a sticking point in any potential move away.

His strained relationship with Zidane would appear too far gone for repair and Real want him off the books.

But this is confused by the latest report coming out of Spain, with Marca stating that Bale has no intention of leaving Madrid this summer.

They report that Bale has "personally communicated" to club directors that he plans to stay after he requested a meeting with chiefs to convey his feelings.

Agent Jonathan Barnett has also stressed Bale's stance, according to the publication, with the player telling the club to not even entertain offers this summer.

Bale is currently on international duty with Ryan Giggs' side as they face Croatia and Hungary in a Euro 2020 double-header.

He is expected to captain the side in the two crunch games for Wales.
