Chelsea can sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window.
But only if one major condition is met.
They must meet the Bundesliga outfit's asking price, which according to ESPN, is a mammoth €180m (£150m) as they look to hold on to the 20-year-old for at least another season as his release clause of €75m (£64m) becomes active at the end of next season.
It remains to be seen if Dortmund's ploy is a successful one, but it will certainly place Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and any other club holding an interest in Haaland on red alert.
The good news for Chelsea - and Man United - is that Haaland has ambitions of playing in the Premier League at some stage in his career.
"He was a Leeds fan and a City fan and a Nottingham Forest fan – he followed me obviously, but that is what you do in your youth," Erling's father, Alf Inge, told talkSPORT. "It is different being a supporter and having a job.
"But he was born in Leeds.
"At one stage he would like to play in the Premier League, but when that will happen, I don’t know. It is a very tough league.
"Up to now he is ahead of the stage we thought he would be at. He is built for the Premier League, but whether that will happen now or at a later stage, we don’t know."
Whether Haaland's ambitions are met this summer depends on if Chelsea's transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is willing to splash out £150m to get a deal done.
If so, the Blues must avoid a tactic that worked against Man United last summer when negotiating with Dortmund for England international Jadon Sancho.
As reported by ESPN, the Red Devils attempted to bargain with Dortmund in order to lower their €120m (£102m) valuation of the forward, but the German side refused to negotiate and the 21-year-old stayed put.
And the aforementioned report states that the same hardline tactic will be in place for Haaland this summer, so it will only take an offer of £150m for the Norwegian to end up at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2021/22 season.
