The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are just around the corner with the opening ceremony for one of the world’s biggest sporting events taking place on July 23 in the National Stadium.
As is usually the case, the women's football event gets underway beforehand, with Great Britain kicking off proceedings against Chile at 8:30am GMT on Wednesday, July 21 at the Sapporo Dome.
Hege Riisse’s squad consists of predominantly Women’s Super League stars, with 10 of the side playing their trade for Manchester City.
Gareth Taylor’s team were runners-up in the WSL and Champions League last season, with experienced figures such as Steph Houghton, Jill Scott, Demi Stokes and Ellen White made the cut for Team GB.
Rivals Manchester United have only one player in the British squad. Ella Toone, who scored nine goals for the club last campaign, will be hoping Riise selects her ahead of stiff competition on the wing.

Here is a full break down of the 10 City players representing Team GB at the Olympics this summer:
Ellie Roebuck - Goalkeeper
Lucy Bronze - Defender
Demi Stokes - Defender
Steph Houghton - Defender (co-captain)

No spectators will be in attendance at any event during the Games due to Japan declaring a state of emergency in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The number of coronavirus cases in the country have been steadily increasing again of late, with 2368 people testing positive on 19 July - the most since 13 May.
