The M8 has been named as the worst-serviced motorway in Britain, according to a study.
The fact there was only one service station on the entire 56-mile stretch of road led to it being ranked the lowest in the UK.
Just Tyres examined motorways to find those that had the most frequent, least busy and highest-rated services.
They found the M74 was the best as it had the most frequent services of any in the UK.
The main route between Edinburgh and Glasgow was given an overall score of 28/100, compared to 90/100 for the M74.
Hearthill service station, known as Heart of Scotland Services, received a customer satisfaction rating of 3 out of 5.
Google reviews of the service station have said it was "filthy with litter" and overpriced. However one praised it for having "good coffee."
Overall the M8 scored the lowest of the 23 service stations Just Tyres analysed.
The M9's service stations had the highest satisfaction score with a rating of 40 out of 40.
Last month a 12-week period of roadworks began on the M8 at the Whitburn junction, causing delays for drivers heading east into Edinburgh.
