The M62 eastbound has been closed after a collision

The M62 has been closed eastbound after a road traffic collision.

All traffic is being temporarily held following the closure of the road shortly before 8pm, following an RTC at J10 for the Croft Interchange.

Police have advised that the slip road from the M6 northbound at junction 21a is also closed.

Motorway camera images show traffic queuing to leave the motorway at junction 12.

There is currently no estimated time for when the road will reopen.

Advising of the closure on social media, Highways England said: The M62 is currently being closed at J10 eastbound M62 Croft Interchange due to a collision.

"This will also close the slip from the M6 northbound at J21a.

"Currently no eta for reopening."
