The Lucid Air Gets Tesla Supercharger Access, More Range

  • Lucid Air EVs will get access to over 23,000 Tesla Supercharger DC fast chargers in North America this month.
  • All model years will get the feature, but a Lucid-approved NACS to CCS1 adapter is needed.
  • For 2026, the Air electric sedan gets more standard features and a more energy-dense battery for one of the trims.

Lucid Air owners will be able to recharge at roughly 23,500 Tesla Supercharger DC fast chargers in the United States starting on July 31, the company said in a statement today. That’s usually great news for people who travel a lot, seeing how Superchargers are seemingly everywhere, but in the case of the Air electric sedan, it’s a little more than an emergency charging solution.

Due to the huge voltage disparity between the Superchargers, which can dispense roughly 400 volts, and the Air’s battery pack, which can comfortably take in over 900 volts, hooking up the luxury electric sedan to Tesla’s chargers will result in only 50 kW. According to Lucid, this charging power will get drivers up to 200 miles of range per hour, which is good when you’re in a pinch, but it’s far from the ideal solution when going on a 1,000-mile road trip.

To use compatible Tesla Superchargers, Air owners will need a NACS to CCS1 adapter, which Lucid sells for $220, excluding taxes. Furthermore, a payment method needs to be set up in the Lucid smartphone app, which is then used to initiate a charging session.

But there’s more news from the California-based startup. All 2026 Lucid Airs now come with a mobile charging cable, as well as an upgraded AC compressor to improve cooling and reduce the ambient noise in the cabin.

The Air Touring now has more range than before, thanks to a higher-density battery pack. With an EPA-estimated range of 431 miles, the mid-range trim now offers 25 more miles on a full battery than the outgoing model and even surpasses the entry-level, rear-wheel drive Air Pure’s 420-mile rating.

Moving up the trim ladder, the 2026 Lucid Air Grand Touring retains its industry-leading 512 miles of range and adds 20-way power memory and massaging front seats as standard.

The extra stuff is good news, but it comes at a price. The 2026 Lucid Air Pure and Touring get a $1,000 price hike, while the Grand Touring is now $4,000 more expensive than before. The cheapest Lucid sedan starts from $72,400, including destination, while the fancier Air Grand Touring starts from $116,400.
