The lovely moment before Daniel James' Manchester United debut you might have missed

Manchester United fans got to see their first glimpse of new signing Daniel James in action today when he started in their pre-season friendly against Perth Glory.

Ever since James was unveiled as United's first signing of the summer transfer window in June, the ex-Swansea City man will have been building up to his big debut.

The 21-year-old Wales talent has impressed both teammates and his new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since linking up with his new club, with the boss previously speaking about how James had set the bar in pre-season training.

Now, in United's first game since that 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City on the last day of the season, James is enjoying the big debut he has been working so hard for.

And in the moments before he started against Perth Glory, James' new teammates also took the time to acknowledge the huge career moment for their new player.

Anthony Martial and Sergio Romero both made a point of going to James ahead of kick-off and giving him a quick hug, embracing him as he officially begins his new career chapter as a United player.

The match in Perth is being shown on MUTV, but if you don't have a subscription, you can follow live updates from the game with the Manchester Evening News here.
