The lovely gesture Gareth Bale and Wales just made for Denmark's Christian Eriksen

UEFA and Wales paid a touching tribute to Christian Eriksen ahead of the crunch Euro 2020 last 16 clash with Denmark in Amsterdam.

As is customary ahead of each tournament fixture, a large banner with the name of the host city is spread across the length of the pitch.

After that banner is unfurled, large shirts of the two competing sides are spread across either half of the field.

Wales' home red strip was unveiled on one side of the pitch, as was the case for the Danes.

But the Danish edition featured the name Eriksen and the number 10 on the back.

The gesture was warmly received by those in attendance at Johan Cruyff Arena.

And just before kick-off Gareth Bale handed Danish captain Simon Kjaer a framed Wales shirt emblazoned with 'Eriksen 10' and 'Brysia wella' - 'Get well soon' in Welsh.

Eriksen is unavailable for the game after his on-pitch collapse during Denmark's tournament opener against Finland on June 12.

The Inter Milan star is currently at home recovering.

The Wales lineup is as follows: Ward; Roberts, Mepham, Rodon, B Davies; Allen, Morrell; Bale (C), Ramsey, James; Moore.
