News while you snoozed

Let's get you up to speed.

  • Queensland now has its most relaxed COVID rules since the pandemic began, including the end of the vaccine mandate to enter public venues including cafes, pubs, cinemas and stadiums. People will still have to prove they're vaccinated to enter vulnerable settings like hospitals, disability and aged care accommodation
  • Sydney Airport officials have warned passengers to brace for even longer queues and delays in the domestic terminals today, on what's tipped to be the busiest day for domestic air travel since the start of the pandemic ahead of the Easter long weekend. Passengers are being told to arrive two hours early
  • Actor Cuba Gooding Jr has pleaded guilty to one count of forcible touching in a protracted criminal case accusing the Oscar winner of violating three different women at various Manhattan night spots in 2018 and 2019

The news Australia is searching for

  • Adam Bandt: That's likely the Green's leader's response from yesterday — he said "Google it, mate" when confronted with an economic stats question from a reporter (you can catch up on day three of the campaign here)
  • Cedric McMillan: The star bodybuilder has died at 44, according to his sponsor. One of his wins was the Arnold Classic in 2017,  and the group posted this tribute on social media:

One more thing: There's a bear in there... again

Meet Juan Carrito.

You might remember him from his social media fame after he broke into an Italian bakery to eat fresh biscuits and leftovers earlier this year.

Well he's back, despite attempts to "rewild" him. He was taken to a national park about 160km away from Roccaraso (the town where he'd been hanging out and nicking treats) — but he walked back again.

That's it for now

We'll be back later on with more.
