The Londoner: The only issue left: when will magazine come out?

Mace, a glossy new politics magazine that suspended publication after just one issue, is due to return after the resolution of its legal issues, the Londoner understands.

Founder and man-about-town William Cash, son of veteran Eurosceptic Tory MP Sir Bill Cash, tells us “we are very much looking forward to publishing our next issue when Whitehall and Parliament are sitting again once the pandemic is over”.

Mace was put on ice in February following a claim from lifestyle magazine Spear’s that Cash had breached the terms of a legal agreement in the way he set up Mace. Cash founded Spear’s but then sold a majority stake to publishing mogul Mike Danson, who also owns the New Statesman, in 2010 with a non-compete agreement. Cash denies any wrongdoing. Cash now tells the Londoner: “We have some great articles lined up like an exclusive interview with writer Douglas Murray and the Top 100 lobbyists and the Top 25 politico power couples.

“Mace can’t wait to get its next issue out, but it probably won’t be until September due to Covid-19. It’s the monthlies and weeklies with large staffs and overheads that will be suffering”. The proof, though, will be in the printing.

The Londoner feels Joe Exotic would make the perfect running mate for Trump. Let’s hope Joe Biden asks Baskin to be his. It’s a jungle out there.

BTSport launches a new show Football’s Not On tomorrow evening featuring stand-up comics Ian Stone, Ben Bailey Smith and Elis James. Stone told us: “Unlike many football clubs, we won’t be furloughing any staff. Mainly because we don’t have any. The fact that there’s absolutely no football on will in no way impede our ability to talk about football.”

In true Flo fashion, wearing spot stickers and all. To those of you that this video applies to- please listen. Please learn. Being hateful is not trendy.

A post shared by Florence Pugh (@florencepugh) on Rita Ora did an abs workout in the sun yesterday, and said she hated a plank-based exercise. No pain, no gain, Rita. Little Women star Florence Pugh defended her relationship with actor Zach Braff, 21 years her senior. She told hostile commenters on Instagram: “I do not need you tell me who I should and should not love.” And Gary Lineker donned a facemask as he left the house for the second time in three weeks. “I’m taking no chances,” he said.
