The lockdown changes to Victoria Centre parking you need to know about

A number of changes have been announced for the car parking arrangements at Nottingham's Victoria Centre.

As the city joins the rest of the country entering the first day of lockdown, shoppers have been informed of how the mall will operate over the next four weeks (November 5 to December 2).

There are still a selection of retail stores and food outlets open in the shopping centre, as click and collect and takeaway food options are permitted under new lockdown rules.

Access to certain areas of the mall will be restricted, depending on store openings, and clear signage will be in place to help direct visitors.

The centre toilet facilities will be closed during the lockdown period.

And if you are planning a trip into the centre by car, there are some things you need to know about parking at the Victoria Centre.

The multi-storey car park (off Woodborough Road) will be closed for the duration of lockdown.

Anyone driving to the centre will be asked to access the Basement Car Park via the Glasshouse Street entrance (NG1 3LW) or York Street entrance (NG1 3NS).

The first hour of parking will be free to allow people to access essential retail and click and collect services.

After the first hour, normal car park tariffs will apply.

What if you park elsewhere and want to visit on foot?

Parliament Street, Milton Street, Glasshouse Street and Cairns Street entrances and exits will remain open for pedestrians, with staff available at each entrance point to answer any questions.

However, the York Street entrance (by Tesco) will be closed during the lockdown period.

Parliament Street and Cairns Street entrances will be open 8am to 6pm.

The walkway between Milton Street and Glasshouse Street will be closed from 11pm to 7am.

Alternative access points have been arranged for Nottingham City Homes residents and are being communicated with them.
