The local Welsh rugby clubs that have produced the most current Wales players and what they looked like then

Wales' World Cup preparations will go up a notch next week when more players head into training camp.

Regardless of when a player's season finished, they will each be afforded a four-week break to get sufficient rest ahead of what is set to be a relentless summer.

The Dragons' representatives in the squad are already in camp, with Cardiff Blues expected next week. Here's who is arriving and when.

The squad then head off to the Swiss Alps for altitude training next month once everyone is in camp.

What it means to wear the Wales jersey

September's tournament will be a career highlight for the chosen players and will represent the ultimate reward for the hard work that started at local clubs in towns and villages across the country and beyond.

Warren Gatland has picked 42 players for the training squad, and there are a few clubs who have produced multiple stars hoping to play on the biggest rugby stage there is later this year in Japan.

Gorseinon can boast that Leigh Halfpenny, Ross Moriarty and Dan Biggar came through their ranks. You can read about this remarkable little club that produced as many Lions as Scotland on the 2017 tour, here.

Carmarthenshire-based club Whitland had Jonathan Davies, Aled Davies and Scott Williams come through their ranks, while Cory Hill, Dillon Lewis and Jarrod Evans all began their rugby journey at Pontypridd, a club with a history of feeding the international side.

We've taken a look at where all the Wales players started off. You can see how some of the stars looked as kids in the gallery below.
