The Liverpool pub selling takeaway carveries for less than £3.50

A Liverpool pub is among the dozens of city restaurants that have signed up for a new scheme that sees venues offering takeaway meals for a fraction of the price.

Allerton Hall, on Springwood Avenue, has signed up for the Too Good To Go app so that it can sell on food that would otherwise have gone to waste.

That means that for the discounted price of £3.29, customers can pick up a roast dinner with all the trimmings.

Allerton Hall isn’t the only venue taking part.

YO! Sushi, Buffet Club, LIV organic, Tai Pan, Lobster Pot and more are also offering dishes with a discount of up to 90%.

These are some of Liverpool restaurants serving the best Sunday roasts

How does it work?

The app was created in 2016 with the idea that all food that was being produced would also be eaten.

People who order from the app can receive food with up to 90% discount.

The app, which is free to download and sign up to, allows customers to see a map that shows how many unsold meals are available at local pubs, bakeries and cafes.

50 of the best places to go for a seriously good pub lunch on Merseyside

Users then select what they want, pay via the app and collect their meal within a certain timeframe.
