Alisson Becker could be in line to return for Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur next month.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has been out of with a calf injury which he sustained on the opening evening of the Premier League season against Norwich City.
Former West Ham goalkeeper Adrian has been deputising in the meantime, but that run in the team is expected to come to an end.
The Liverpool Echo revealed that the former Roma star trained with the club's goalkeeping staff at the start of the week and is now awaiting all the all-clear from the medical department before he is back in the fold with his team-mates.
But speaking ahead of the Champions League clash with Red Bull Salzburg, Jurgen Klopp said that he's hopeful that Alisson will be fit in time to face Manchester United - the week before the clash with Mauricio Pochettino's side.
He said: “There are two opinions. One is Ali's and the other one is the medical department.
"We should wait. We have to see. He’s training well but it was a serious injury. We won’t take the risk with him.
"We’ll have to see for Leicester but Manchester United is 100 percent."
