The Liverpool and Chelsea Welsh wonderkids named among Europe's 50 most valuable players under 20 as Manchester United target tops list

Wales footballers Ethan Ampadu and Ben Woodburn have been named among the 50 most valuable players under the age of 20 in Europe.

The Chelsea and Liverpool youngsters are 37th and 40th in the list respectively, with both Welshmen tipped for huge futures in the game.

According to the list compiled by the respected CIES Football Observatory, who use a special algorithm to determine the value of players, Amapdu is currently worth €12.1m (£10.3m), while Woodburn is priced at €10.9m (£9.3m) despite barely featuring in the Chelsea and Liverpool first teams.

Midfielder or defender Ampadu, 18, has made just four first team appearances for Chelsea this season, while Woodburn hasn't played a single match for Liverpool this year after a difficult loan spell at Sheffield United was ended early.

Nineteen-year-old attacker Woodburn has 10 caps for Wales and burst on to the international scene in 2017 after coming off the bench to score a stunning 25-yard debut goal to defeat Austria 1-0.

Why Liverpool and Wales teen ace Ben Woodburn may have to leave Anfield to get the regular football his talent warrants

Ampadu has played six times for Wales and has established himself as a firm part of Ryan Giggs' first team with some commanding dispalys.

He is seen as a big part of Chelsea's future, featuring prominently in their recent kit launch. You can read about his rise and why he is so special, here.

While the two Welsh stars are clearly valuable commodities, they are a long way behind some of Europe's other hottest talents in terms of their value.

Dortmund's England international Jadon Sancho, who is a summer transfer target for Manchester United, tops the list with a value of €150.3m, while international team-mate Declan Rice is fifth on the list at €64m.

Other notable inclusions are Arsenal's Matteo Guendouzi, who is second at €70.1m, Man City's Phil Foden (€21.9m) and Ampadu's Chelsea team-mate Callum Hudson-Odbi (€20.3m). Manchester United's Diogo Dalot is 13th on the list at €30.2m.
