The list of things you'll able to do from next week as key lockdown end date arrives

The country is just days away from seeing the first significant Covid-19 restrictions being eased.

Taoiseach Micheal Martin last week laid out the country's plans to ease lockdown over the coming weeks and into the summer in an address to the nation.

On Tuesday, the first restrictions were lifted with all construction workers returning to work in full for the first time in months.

And in just a week's time on May 10, the people of Ireland will again get to enjoy a raft of freedoms which we haven't for many months.

Here's a look at what you'll be able to do from May 10:

Get a haircut

One of the biggest changes to the lockdown easing will see the return of personal services such as hairdressers, barbers and salons.

Countless people across the country will finally be allowed to get their lockdown locks trimmed. They are asked to do so on an appointment basis to start however so get booking!

Click and collect shopping

May 10 will also see the return of click and collect shopping services. Unfortunately, people will have to wait until May 17 to get shopping in person once again as the return of non-essential retail is put on hold for another week.

Travel to another county

People will once again be permitted to leave their county with the intercounty travel ban finally being scrapped.

Garden visits

This will come as a huge relief to many who haven't been able to socialise properly over the last few months. Garden visits will once again be permitted for a maximum of 3 households or 6 people from any number of households.

Meet with a group outdoors

A maximum of 15 people will now also be able to meet up outdoors and with the summer months ahead this will be a huge boost to many people.

Have a bigger wedding

Countless couples have made many sacrifices throughout the pandemic, particularly those who have had to put their wedding plans on hold.

Previously just six people were allowed at a wedding service, making it very difficult for couples to celebrate properly.

However, that is soon set to be extended to a maximum of 50 guests at service. Unfortunately a maximum 6 guests at indoor reception or 15 outdoors will only be permitted for the time being.

Visit a gallery or museum

Attractions are slowly reopening across the country giving people something to look forward to after months of being stuck at home.

Dublin Zoo's reopening has already been hugely successful and now people will be able to visit Galleries, museums, libraries and other cultural attractions from May 10.
