The Lions say Good Bye to Theo Riddick, but he won’t be forgotten

It’s always good news, bad news isn’t it? Especially in sports.

With the signing of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Michael Daniels, the Lions had to let go of their 6th round pick in the 2013 draft, running back Theo Riddick.

Over the past few seasons, when the running game was struggling, Riddick was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal running attack. He was one of the NFL’s leading pass-catching backs having averaged 62 catches over the last four years. Patricia feels that he was a great player, a great professional and did a lot of great things for the Lions. But, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.

An excellent pass-catching, third-down running back, Riddick will for sure be missed here in Detroit. But if there’s one thing for certain its change. And with recent additions to the running back room, and perhaps even a change in philosophy, changes needed to be made.

But there will always be plenty of love for Riddick here in the Motor City!
