Despite drag and drag queens being more or less embraced in modern life, Shuv Light, a female drag queen hasn’t had the easiest time.
As a woman who does drag, she has had people question her place in the community- as well as some bad experiences with drunk people in clubs- but this has never stopped her from embracing who she is and the beauty of drag.
Inspired by seeing iconic female drag queens such as Sigourney Beaver in nightclubs when she was younger, Shuv was eager to bend the common perception of gender and follow suit.
Watch as Shuv the female drag queen shares her experiences and what she wishes would change, such as shedding light on the poor mental health awareness in the community.
Shuv has found a sense of liberation from drag- the opportunity to become more brazen and bold when she dons her makeup and unique outfits.
Despite the discrimination, Shuv is proud and firmly in the drag community- she will never be ashamed of who she is and is eager for the public to see the true side of women in drag.
