The Leveller by Julia Durango – review

Level One. Objective: Find Wyn. Successful.
Level Two. Objective: Escape the MEEP. Successful.
Level Three. Objective: Try Not to Fall For Wyn. Failed.

I could have loved this book. It had video games. A cool and awesome protagonist. And a dude named Wyn. Sadly, I didn’t.

The romance was too quick, the book was over 200 pages long. They met a few pages in. They fell for each other faster than that. They barely knew each other. They barely had any chemistry. It was instalove, I hated it.

Leveller

The plot was boring, there wasn’t any action. Sure, the maze was interesting. It wasn’t like that repeated though. Once Nixy meant Wyn, all the cool action sequences disappeared. Is that a coincidence? I think not. And Nixy wasn’t interesting enough.

She was this cool, smart girl and we never got any of that. It felt like she was someone else in the middle. She was cool in the beginning; she could go through mazes and figure out what to do. When she met Wyn, she became like any other boring, lovestruck YA fiction girl and didn’t stand out in my opinion.

Rating: 2/5
