The leotard that put the Cher into Cheryl Cole

^'I don't really care what guys think, [I'm] more about giving the girls something to aspire to." So said Cheryl Cole just the other week when asked about her style, and while I appreciate her generosity of spirit, I can't help feeling she might be leading us down the wrong path with her outfit on Sunday's X Factor. A path that makes a quick stop at MC Hammer's house of harem-pant horrors and ends in Cher: the Turn Back Time years. Cole has put on a pair of trousers in a modest updating of the ensemble, but essentially it's Cher's sheer, high-cut leotard she's wearing. And that's a place that surely none of us aspires to reach.
