The Leeds woman who spends more than £3,000 a year on fillers, botox and tanning

A white woman from Leeds is so tanned that the police once thought she was a black woman.

Rosie Cawthera, 27, is so obsessed with surgery and tanning to a point where she spends an hour a day on a tanning bed in her home.

Rosie’s journey with cosmetic surgeries started aged 21 when she was handed £1,000 from her parents to go towards her housing deposit - but she got her first boob job instead, costing £5,000.

The dental nurse now has regular procedures to keep up her obsession with botox and fillers in her lips, jaw, chin and cheeks costing more than £1,100 a year.

She spends a further £2,000 on tanning alone each year.

Rosie from Applebridge said she was stopped by the police for speeding once and the police put on her report that her ethnicity was ‘Black Caribbean’.

She said: “My mum says I look like a fish and my lips take up all my face but I love them and my boyfriend likes them.

“I think the bigger the lips the better, but I’m at a stage now where they are so big people turn me away.

“I just like being tanned, I’m naturally olive-skinned people used to think I was Spanish probably somewhere down the line but I’ve gone so dark my boyfriend is black and I’m as dark as him.

“I’ve never been that confident but it started with my bobs because I was flat-chested. My birthday my parents gave me more than a grand towards buying a house then I went to get a boob job, they were fuming.

“The next thing I want is another boob job to go bigger.

“I don’t live at home but when I did my parents would say I’m wasting my money and ruining my face but now I’m older they don’t say anything anymore. They’ve given up.”

Despite having a number of surgeries already Rosie is planning for another boob job as well as a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

Last year a coroner surgeons conducting the "Brazilian butt lift" to consider whether it is safe to continue to offer the operation following the death of a Leeds mother-of-three.

Leah Cambridge, 29, travelled to a hospital in Izmir, Turkey, to undergo the procedure in August 2018 and died after she suffered a serious blood clot in theatre.

Rosie thinks she may have body dysmorphia but has not been officially diagnosed.

“I feel more confident but I want more doing. I want a BBL it is dangerous and someone I know actually died.

“Sometimes I think I’ve body dysmorphia, there are times I’ve looked in the mirror and I said to my mum my lips have gone small and my mum says they don’t need doing.

“I do get comments once a day about my tan saying you’re too dark and it annoys me. Ninty per cent of the time I’m not bothered.

“It’s just what makes me happy.

“I don’t think I’ll stop.”
