The Leeds United star who was responsible for Eddie Nketiah's loan move from Arsenal

He's been a revelation since arriving at Elland Road but Eddie Nketiah's loan move almost didn't materialise.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post , Leeds United were prioritising the signing of a winger to strengthen Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

One key target was Ryan Kent who was made available from Liverpool, but only on a permanent deal.

The report states that Leeds agreed a fee for the 22-year-old, but opted against a move after seeing the stunning performance of former Man City man Jack Harrison.

This display on the flank convinced the Leeds hierarchy that they maybe didn't need another winger, but instead could do with bolstering their attacking line.

Enter Eddie Nketiah.

The Arsenal prospect was one of the most sought-after stars among clubs in the Championship, but the Gunners opted to send him to Leeds due to their hopes of winning promotion, and more importantly, the exposure it would give the 20-year-old of playing in front of the demanding fans of a huge football institution.

It's safe to say that Nketiah has taken the challenge in his stride with three goals in his first five appearances, and it's no surprise that expectations are for the youngster to play a huge part in Leeds' challenge for promotion.
