The Leeds United players walking disciplinary tightrope ahead of five bookings cut-off

Leeds United players walking the disciplinary tightrope have four matches to avoid picking up a one-match ban. Players in the Premier League incur an automatic one-match ban if they pick up five yellow cards in the first 19 matches of the season and Leeds currently have three members of their squad in and around that mark.

Right-back Rasmus Kristensen is the only player sitting on four bookings at present, though Robin Koch and Marc Roca are both on three. Kristensen has played all but two of Leeds' Premier League matches so far this season, while Koch and Roca have started every game, suggesting Jesse Marsch sees them as key players in his side.

Leeds are pretty well stocked at right back, though, and would have both Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh as options to replace Kristensen in the event of suspension. Diego Llorente would be the most likely to candidate to stand in for Koch, while Adam Forshaw and Sam Greenwood could fill in for Roca.

The four matches in which the aforementioned trio will have to negotiate are Newcastle United (a), West Ham (h), Aston Villa (a) and Brentford (h). Leeds do also travel to Cardiff City in that time, but players are not able to serve suspensions for bookings in the FA Cup.

The next cut-off point players will have to look towards after the five-yellow card deadline is the 32nd match. Should anyone pick up 10 bookings up to and including that fixture will have to serve a two-match ban.
