The Leeds pubs and bars that got social distancing spot on during Super Saturday

Punters have praised the best Leeds pubs and bars for social distancing and following the safety rules when lockdown lifted for them.

There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the weekend's reopening of pubs, with many concerned that social distancing and the work done to control the spread of coronavirus would be compromised.

But after we asked readers who they thought got the social distancing aspect worked out well, dozens of people got in touch to sing the praises of their favourite drinking holes that were reopening for the first time since lockdown was introduced at the end of March.

Rodney Thewlis highlighted The Assembly at Station Road, Cross Gates, who he said were "well organised" and had social distancing measures "well in place".

Tracey Clements said The Fox Thorner were "really well organised" for their reopening and that she "felt safe".

In Wakefield, Tim Parker said that the Calder Vale Hotel was "absolutely spot on". He said there were "no issues whatsoever as we didn't expect there to be".

Bower's Tap on Lower Briggate was praised by Jackie Lee who said they had "excellent service and super efficient staff" and whilst being "all so safe".

The Hope Inn on York Road was highlighted by a couple of people who said that it was "superbly" set up to accommodate customers

Si Cambridge highlighted The Thomas Osborne on Street Lane, saying there was "firm but friendly rules in place" and that they made hand sanitiser and table service in place for people.
