The Leeds postcode that has not had a single Covid-19 death throughout the pandemic

One Leeds area has recorded zero coronavirus related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) indicates there have been no Covid deaths registered between March 2020 and February 2021 in Leeds city centre.

Since the beginning of the pandemic last year, figures from Leeds City Council and updated on March 31, it states that there have been 1,670 Covid-deaths in the city - this is equivalent to 210.6 per 100,000 people.

In the UK, there have been a total of 149,168 deaths where coronavirus is on the death certificate.

England which has 86,434 confirmed reported deaths in hospitals is preparing to move into the government’s second step out of lockdown.

From Monday 12 April, non-essential businesses including hairdressers, pub beer gardens and shops, can reopen for the first time since the third lockdown measures were introduced.

Leeds' current infection rate is 87.6 with 695 new cases down from 119.9 per 100,000 people.
