The Leeds mum who has created a limited edition Cadbury's chocolate bar

A mum from Leeds has created a brand new chocolate bar for famous confectioners Cadbury.

Taylor Campbell turned her eldest son’s obsession for Blueberry’s in her very own version, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Out Of The Blueberry chocolate bar.

The 24-year-old has now become one of three finalists picked out of 120,000 entrants to create a limited edition chocolate bar.

Gillian from Northern Ireland has also made the final three for her 'Coconutty' bar, while Shannon from Nottingham made the Crunch Honeycomb bar.

The trio travelled all the way to Cadbury HQ in Bourneville, Birmingham, to create their unique bars and stepped into the Innovation Kitchen where they worked with chocolate experts to experiment with their ingredients and make their creations a reality.

Taylor Campbell used her eldest son’s obsession for Blueberry’s to create the Out Of The Blueberry chocolate bar (Cadbury Inventor)

The chocolate bars are available to buy in Tesco now and all major retailers across the UK and Ireland, and online from July 22.

Taylor said: “It’s pretty unbelievable until you walk past it on the supermarket shelves. Being able to create my very own limited edition Cadbury Dairy Milk bar has been a lot of fun, and Out of the Blueberry is packed with my eldest son’s favourite ingredients so it’s something special for him, which we can enjoy together.

“I’m a big Dairy Milk fan, so when I saw the link on Facebook to create your own chocolate bar and I was instantly intrigued. It was really easy to take part and there were so many different ingredients to choose from so you could get really creative if you wanted to.

"I picked my eldest son’s favourite flavours of blueberries and white chocolate and added it to the bar – I clicked submit and thought nothing of it. And, here we are! The competition has now reopened for next year on the Cadbury Inventor website, and I’d definitely recommend chocolate fans to take part in the chance to be next year’s Inventor.

“I didn’t know what to expect when I applied last year, but I hoped for the best! It’s amazing to see how far my bar has come and seeing it get a lot of support and love online too.

"It would be absolutely fantastic if I won and a really special moment for me and my son, so hopefully we’ll have a Leeds winner this year. Vote BLUEBERRY!"

The three new limited edition bars have been put to the public vote, going head-to-head to be crowned the nation's favourite and the latest addition to the iconic Cadbury Dairy Milk range.

Fans can vote here until September 6, with the winner to be announced shortly afterwards.
