While some may dismiss garden centres as days out for people over a certain age, there’s one in Leeds that's far from it.
Tucked away in north west Leeds, High Trees Garden Centre has all your greenfingered needs, with a bistro and even a barbershop on site.
That’s right, you can buy some compost, have your lunch and get a haircut all in one place.
The garden centre, in Otley Old Road, Horsforth, was established in 1982 by a family who are passionate about gardening and sharing their knowledge with their customers.
It is then accompanied by the beautifully named Bistro Le Jardin which is decorated with plants and guests can enjoy afternoon tea as well as breakfast, lunch and brunch.
According to TripAdvisor, the cafe has a four-star rating and is a hit with visitors.
One person wrote: “This cafe is a little gem, limited menu but well done, table service and proper cutlery, plates etc and they can accommodate gluten-free, delicious cheese and ham toastie with homemade made chips, super friendly staff and well done for being a small haven in all this madness.”
However, the attraction for some is The Barbers Hut, located in the centre’s car park.
It’s open four days a week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - and is a welcome part of the centre but people admit it's a “very different experience”.
One person wrote a review on Google that reads: “I had my haircut on Saturday. A very different experience.
"It’s very small, one chair with a bench behind it, but I quite enjoyed the novelty. Julia was very friendly and I’m very happy with my haircut.”
