The Leeds dream homes you could buy if you won the lottery this week

So you win the lottery jackpot this Wednesday.

Or a rich uncle you never knew you had dies and leaves you his fortune.

You're about as likely to be struck by lightning but we can all dream.

So let's say you become a multimillionaire overnight and you're tired of brushing up against the walls in your cramped abode.

Well, here's a selection of dream homes in Leeds and the LS postcode area which are currently for sale.

There are custom built luxury mansions, listed historic houses and city centre pads not to mention cutting-edge country retreats.

Here are a few suggestions for how some of your newfound wealth could be spent.

Now Jeeves, pass me my smoking jacket and grab me a cigar out of the humidor.

One of Leeds' finest homes

The Manor, Alwoodley (Fine and Country)

You might need to win a rollover jackpot for this £3.95m mansion in Alwoodley – but you get what you pay for.

As far as luxury goes, you'll struggle to find anywhere more opulent than (probably) the most exclusive house on Leeds' most exclusive street.

The seven-bedroom mansion comes with several enormous reception rooms, a swimming pool, gym and orangery, plus two double garages and a self-contained annexe/granny flat.

The 'Grand Designs' house

Reservoir House, Ilkley Moor (Knight Frank)

You may be forgiven for thinking Reservoir House is a hotel whereas it is in fact, an eco-friendly, cutting-edge design family home.

It's built on the site of Hawksworth Moor Reservoir, on the edge of Ilkley Moor, which means it's hidden and sheltered.

This £3m property is split between the main family home, a guest house and the garage block which includes a gym and home office.

As well as six bedrooms, there's an enormous open plan living, dining and kitchen area, cinema, multilevel courtyard and 12 acres of land.

The mid-century modern mansion

The Cyphers, Alwoodley (The Modern House)

Here's the kind of house you'd imagine an architect or a successful artist living in.

This early 1960s, five-bedroom property is a fine example of mid-century modern architecture with its angular shape, futuristic (for the 1960s, anyway) staircase, open plan downstairs and parquet floors.

The Cyphers, in Leeds' most exclusive suburb, is on sale for £1,395,000.

The medieval manor house

The Manor House, Oulton (Fine and Country)

This six-bedroom dream home 'steeped in history' is on sale for £975,000.

The Manor House, Oulton, dates back to around 1495 and is packed with historic features.

They include exposed wooden beams, mullion windows, open vaulted ceilings and stone fireplaces.

And there are plenty of modern features in this six-bedroom property which is split between the main house and a detached barn conversion.

The city centre duplex

This huge, curvy apartment in the heart of Leeds city centre is on sale for £650,000 (JLL)

Living in a city centre usually means living in a flat built in the last 15 years – and they all look pretty much the same.

Not this huge, curvy duplex which is on the market for £650,000.

When estate agents say 'city centre location' what they often mean is on the fringes of the city centre – or in the inner city.

Not this dream home in a grade II listed woollen mill which is two minutes' walk from Leeds Town Hall. Leeds city centre living doesn't get any more central than this.
