The Leeds danger road where 26 drivers were caught by police in just one night

This is the Leeds road where a staggering 26 drivers were caught for speeding and other offences in just one night.

Police said one driver was caught driving at 68mph in Roseville Road in Harehills which has a 30mph limit. Another was caught at 56mph.

The road is just a few hundred yards from the scene of a hit-and-run in September which left a man seriously injured in nearby Roundhay Road.

The latest incidents happened on Friday night with West Yorkshire Police warning drivers to slow down on Roseville Road which includes industrial units, shops and a gym as well as houses and flats.

All 26 drivers were reported for offences by the Roads Policing Unit after they targeted the road on Friday evening.

In September, a 39-year-old was left in a serious condition in hospital after a hit and run at the junction of Roundhay Road and Spencer Place just a short walk from Roseville.

The pedestrian was hit by a silver Vauxhall Astra that fled the scene after the accident shortly after midnight.
