The 'leaked' Celtic starting XI as Jonny Hayes tipped to start against Rangers

Games between Celtic and Rangers are always jam-packed with drama but there's always plenty of intrigue in the build-up as well.

Neil Lennon and Steven Gerrard know it's vital to get pick the right starting XI and also leave something in reserve if the match isn't going to plan.

Rumours were swirling last season that Scott Bain would get the nod to replace the injured Craig Gordon in the hours before kick-off and it was proved correct as the Scotland international starred in the 3-2 win at Ibrox.

And there's plenty of intrigue before Sunday's game with a line-up doing the rounds suggesting Lennon will include Kieran Tierney in his starting team.

The Celtic hero has been nursing a calf complaint but he is pegged to start in the rumoured side, which ex-Rangers player Alex Rae even read out on the radio.

The "leak" also suggests Jonny Hayes could play get the nod in a front three after impressing against Dundee a fortnight ago.

A start for the Irishman would be a slight surprise but Lennon often looked to throw a curveball during his first spell in the Parkhead dugout.

In the 0-0 game in 2010, Anthony Stokes was dropped for Georgios Samaras despite the Irish striker running amok against Kilmarnock days earlier.

The other notable inclusions in today’s apparent line-up are Olivier Ntcham, with the Frenchman set to earn his first start since the 1-0 defeat to Rangers in December.

Mikael Lustig is also in ahead of Jeremy Toljan with the Swede having vast experience of this fixture.

The rumour has subsequently been proven to be spot-on from one to XI.

Tierney has been passed fit while Hayes is ahead of him on the left flank.

Edouard starts in the lone striking role.
