'The league isn’t ready' - Frank Lampard sent message as Chelsea receive major injury boost

Christian Pulisic is in contention to feature for Chelsea against Brighton & Hove Albion, according to reports.

The Athletic claim the American has made a quicker than expected recovery and could well return at the AMEX Stadium on Monday night.

Pulisic was expected to miss the start of the season after suffering a bad hamstring injury in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.

The game against Brighton will come too soon for new signings Ben Chilwell (heel) and Hakim Ziyech (knee).

Despite the two new men sitting out the season opener, Chelsea fans were understandably excited at the prospect of seeing Pulisic back in action.

Edouard Mendy to Chelsea latest

Here’s what they were saying on Twitter.

@OlaworeSamuel3: I doubt if Pulisic will start, he might not be match fit, thank God he's over the injury, 15 minutes or so will do to be ready for Liverpool, Odoi should start..

@WidePlaymakerV3: Pulisic is fit? OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG

@PeterTomivan: Pulisic is fit already? Wow

@HeritageCFC: Pulisic back for Brighton? I love this game.

@Chelseatransfe2: Highly doubt Puli will start but 4321 with Pulisic Kai Odoi behind Werner would be mad. Reckon Mount or Giroud will start instead though.

@CFC_CHRIS_: Ziyech out but Pulisic could play.

Do I laugh, cry, or both?

@RickyDLaw: Pulisic? Man. Do not get him anywhere near a football pitch for at least 3 weeks. Rushing him back is the reason his injuries wont heal proper.

@CFCARCHER: Pulisic is a cyborg? How has he recovered so quickly.

@MMPCFC: No need to rush Pulisic we can't risk him getting injured like last time where he came back too early.

@AnabelxEms: Pulisic is ready for Brighton. This is his season if he avoid injury’s. The league ain’t ready.

@CFCDaily: Ziyech being out is a blow but that’s kinda made less gutting that Pulisic is back and ready to at least make the matchday squad as well as Havertz being ready quicker than we originally thought.

@Nino12x: Pulisic is back for the Brighton game? Things just get better and better.

@Rvphs: The Pulisic Havertz link-up is still something to look out for.
