The latest update on Sabri Lamouchi's Nottingham Forest future after play-off collapse

Nottingham Forest are not in any rush to make a decision over the future of Sabri Lamouchi.

Lamouchi's stock collapsed when the Reds fell out of the playoff spot in almost impossible circumstances on the Championship's final night.

Forest only needed a draw to wrap up their place in the play-offs on the final night, but they lost 4-1 at home to strugglers Stoke and Swansea managed to make up the five goals they needed to sneak into the top six at the Reds' expense.

The collapse has left some Forest fans asking questions of Lamouchi and whether he should carry on at the City Ground.

But according to The Telegraph, the Reds will take their time to mull over what has happened before making any big decisions.

"#nffc to take their time deciding what happens next, after the implosion," The Telegraph's John Percy wrote on Twitter. "Would have settled for 7th in June when it was "Sabri Who?", season before lockdown v good.

"But 10 points from 9 games inexcusable in that position & clearly wider issues than Lamouchi. Not a time to panic.

"Just to be clear that nothing sinister intended by “wider issues”. Simply mean issues such as player mentality, whether recruitment could be better etc"

NottinghamshireLive also understands no decision will be made today on Lamouchi, but a full review will follow.

Lamouchi only signed a new contract with the club in June having put together what looked to be for so long a very impressive campaign.

But a disastrous spell followed the three-month coronavirus break - Forest not winning any of their last six games - and the Frenchman's future now appears to be up in the air after the playoffs slipped away.
