We are into day 11 of the January transfer window and things are hotting up.
Swansea City head coach Russell Martin revealed after the FA Cup defeat to Southampton on Saturday that he hoped to add to his squad before next weekend's clash with Huddersfield Town.
He did stress though that he couldn't say for sure.
"I would have thought so. It's really difficult, I can't promise anything," he said.
"January, it changes very quickly, the landscape. As it stands, how far down the line we are with a couple, we're hopeful, but that's all we ever are.
"Nothing is nailed on until it's done in football so we'll have to wait and see."
The landscape does change very quickly - the last 24 hours or so has shown that.
New names and rumours emerge almost daily at this time of year, with the links to Wolves winger Ryan Giles a prime example .
National reports have stated Swansea are interested in the former Bluebirds loan man, but it is understood those rumours are far from solid.
Giles left south Wales to return to Molineux last week and it appears he may well leave on loan again. But as things stand, Swansea's interest isn't concrete.
Other outlets state that Swansea have missed out on Leeds United youngster Cody Drameh , who appears destined to sign on loan elsewhere this month.
Wing-back is certainly an area Martin would like to strengthen though, with Manchester United youngster Ethan Laird now spending the second half of the campaign with Bournemouth.
Another player on Swansea's radar, Tommy Doyle , has left his loan club Hamburger SV, with their sporting director confirming the Manchester City midfielder is looking for a new club.
“Tommy is now looking for a new club. We are initially assuming that he will probably not come back, but we do not want to rule that out 100 per cent,” said HSV sports director Michael Mutzel.
Blackpool and Barnsley are also in the hunt for the midfielder.
Doyle's City team-mate James McAtee remains of significant interest to Martin and Co; the attacking midfielder got some minutes for Pep Guardiola's side in their FA Cup win over Swindon Town on Friday night. Southampton are keen on the 19-year-old with City only willing to let him leave on a temporary basis to a side with the right playing style.
The strongest transfer links at present pertain to MK Dons pair Andrew Fisher and Matt O'Riley . The goalkeeper and midfielder are well known to Martin from his time at the club. Fisher appears destined to secure a move to south Wales imminently after it was confirmed the League One club had accepted a bid from Swansea.
In terms of outgoings, Swansea have already seen Laird depart and Morgan Whittaker follow him out the door. The striker made an immediate impact at Lincoln City, scoring on his debut in a 2-0 win over Oxford United.
If Fisher does get over the line, Steven Benda is likely to depart in order to secure game-time.
In defence, Martin would like to strengthen his options but what happens in this department is likely to hinge on Rhys Williams and Liverpool.
The centre-back came off the bench late on against the Saints and as things stand, remains a Swansea player for the time being. Brandon Cooper , who started the cup clash, could head out on loan depending on incomings.
We could see plenty of movement in midfield. Yan Dhanda , Jay Fulton and young Daniel Williams were all named as replacements last weekend, with Dhanda and Fulton getting some action as the game went into extra-time.
Both are still expected to leave permanently this month, while talent Williams is likely to get a six-month loan deal somewhere.
