The latest supercomputer prediction that will interest Nottingham Forest and Leeds United fans

Nottingham Forest may be on a three-game winless run, but they are still firmly in the Championship promotion picture.

One win in five has seen Sabri Lamouchi’s men slip 12 points behind the automatic spots, but they are just one point off third.

Leeds United moved back to the top of the Championship table in midweek and that's where they will end up in May, according to the latest Supercomputer predictions.

A 2-0 win for the Whites over Hull City, combined with a 1-1 draw for West Bromwich Albion away at Wigan means that goal difference sees Marcelo Bielsa's side lead the table.

According to FiveThirtyEight's supercomputer, they will win the Championship by six points with 94 points come the end of the season.

West Brom, similarly, will earn promotion at a canter with a whopping 12 points between them in second on 88 points and Brentford who are predicted to finish third.

The statistical modelling has worked out there is an 89 and 59 per cent chance of the Leeds and West Brom returning to the Premier League this season.

Despite sitting seventh in the table after 21 matches, the Bees impressive form means they have a 52% chance of entering the play-off lottery alongside Fulham (48%), Forest (35%) and Bristol City (32%) - making up the play-off fixtures.

Sheffield Wednesday – who head to the City Ground on Saturday - and Preston North End will both miss out by a solitary point, according to the latest predictions, with Hull City three points adrift in ninth.

At the bottom end of the table, there won't be much change for Barnsley who are tipped to finish rock-bottom of the standings.

The Tykes are predicted to end the season with only 40 points with a 40 per cent chance of being relegated.

They could be joined by Wigan Athletic (49%) and Luton Town (52%), who are both predicted to end the season on 45 points, two points adrift of safety.

Charlton Athletic will be their nearest rival, with Stoke City and Middlesbrough tipped to pull clear despite their early-season struggles.
