The latest promotions at law firm TLT show the progress of women in the company over the past three years

Law firm TLT has promoted 10 colleagues to the position of partner.

The latest round of updates confirm the Bristol-headquartered firm's performance in progressing female talent, with women accounting for 66% of partner promotions in the last three years.

Six colleagues from the firm’s commercial services group were promoted to partner, including Ayla Skene international trade team and Vanessa Cooper from the general commercial team, Catherine Turtle, James Wilson from the public inquiries and public law team, Louisa Williams from the data, tech and IP team and Thomas Ward in the firm’s restructuring and insolvency team.

Also included in this year’s promotions list were Alanna Tregear, Chantal Peters and Steve Walpole from the financial services disputes and investigations team within the banking and lender services group and Alexandra Holsgrove Jones as TLT’s first knowledge partner in the real estate group.

Helen Hodgkinson, chief people officer at TLT commented: "Congratulations to all our talented colleagues who have been promoted to partner this year. I’m pleased to note the gender split across promotions resulting, in part, from the numerous initiatives we have launched in the last twelve months including an enhanced menopause offering.

"It has been an exciting twelve months at TLT. By championing flexible working and creating a people-first culture, the firm has cemented its position as one of the most progressive and inclusive law firms’ in the country. Our 2023 promotions recognise the contributions our people make to our continued growth and success."

Sasha Butterworth, senior partner at TLT added: "In 2022, TLT celebrated record financial results, and was recognised across numerous awards including winning Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards 2022. None of these achievements would be possible without the hard work of everyone at TLT. I’m pleased to see promotions ranging across our practice groups, sectors and locations, reflecting our full-service and UK-wide offering. Congratulations to all those who have been promoted this year."

The promotions follow a successful year at TLT, during which the firm celebrated record £144m revenue following the first year of a new strategy for 2025 aiming to drive robust financial growth by increasing resources, developing the firm’s reach locally, nationally and internationally, and using the latest integrated technology, whilst delivering a progressive workplace agenda, with market leading sustainability.

TLT also promoted one colleague to legal director, 26 senior associates to managing associate level and 31 associates to senior associate level across the firm’s offices in Glasgow, Belfast, London, Manchester and Bristol. This latest round of promotions brings the total number of partners to 159.
