The latest on Dan Biggar, Jonathan Davies and Josh Adams as Wales issue injury update

Wales are sweating on the fitness of Jonathan Davies and Dan Biggar after their 29-17 victory over Fiji in Oita.

Biggar was removed from the field after a horrible collision with team-mate Liam Williams.

The duo were running in opposite directions, both with eyes fixed on the ball, when they came together.

Head coach Warren Gatland confirmed that the fly-half didn’t have a head injury assessment and was simply removed from the game.

He is also not in consideration to face Uruguay on Sunday.

“Dan didn’t do a HIA. He was just removed from the field,” explained Gatland.

“It means that he won’t be in consideration for Sunday and he will have to go through protocols.

“We’ll probably get someone to look at him as well.”

The other injury concern was to centre Davies, who hurt his knee in the process of sending Josh Adams over for his third try of the match.

The winger was also forced from the field shortly after the incident with a dead leg.

“Josh Adams and Jonathan Davies got whacks on their legs,” said Gatland.

“No fears. Josh just took a dead leg.

“Jonathan, with his knee, it was the same sort of thing. You never know with knees.

“He will probably be assessed tomorrow when all players go and have a review of today.”

Biggar’s absence from Sunday’s game means that Rhys Patchell is likely to start the match in Kumamoto.
