The Man United injury concerns which could boost Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs in top four battle

Manchester United could be without some key players against Huddersfield Town.

Despite hitting a poor run of form, the Red Devils can still claim a place in next season's Champions League.

Currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table, United are three points behind Chelsea in fourth and five points behind Tottenham, who were beaten by Bournemouth yesterday afternoon.

Given the multiple twists and turns in recent weeks, two wins from two will give Man United a fantastic chance of finishing in the top four.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be without several players for the game on Sunday, with the United boss admitting that the Red Devils have a number of injury problems, including Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

"We’ve got a few niggles and injuries, still got two days, today and tomorrow to see who gets on the pitch," he said. "We missed a few last week. There’s a few, no point giving you the insides, you get that from whoever you get it from anyway."

But Solskjaer did speak about two of the Red Devils' injured players in an interview with the club, via MUTV.

"Eric Bailly has probably been the one smiling the most out of all of us because you fear the worst [about his knee injury]," he said.

"There are a few little niggles, so let’s count the numbers on Sunday morning I reckon. Mason Greenwood started off this week training but then he’s out injured again unfortunately.

"We were looking at bringing him into the squad for the last two games - maybe he’ll make the last one."

According to Premier Injuries , Marcus Rashford and Chris Smalling are both doubts for the game and will be assessed ahead of the game, along with Jesse Lingard, who has had inflammation of the knee.

Phil Jones and Antonio Valencia are also doubts for the game, although it is understood that they have been training and could come into contention at the weekend.

The Manchester Evening News has reported that Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were absent from training pictures this week, but Solskjaer declined to divulge any more information at his press conference.

Can Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal or Man United miss out on the Champions League if they finish fourth?

But Solskjaer did confirm that Manchester United had been dealt a fresh injury blow this week, with goalkeeper Sergio Romero missing training yesterday with a knee injury.

As such, he said David De Gea is likely to continue in goal, despite coming under the spotlight after a number of high-profile errors in recent weeks.

"Sergio was injured yesterday so didn't train. He tweaked his knee, so David [De Gea] has been training all week."
