Latest data shows 850 fewer Covid cases were recorded across Greater Manchester in the week to October 31.
The date represents the latest available official statistics from the UK Health Security Agency.
Over the seven days to October 31, a total of 10,314 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester, the data published on Thursday shows.
That represents an eight per cent drop in cases from the 11,164 positive tests recorded over the previous week.
The latest infection rate data in the week to October 31 shows cases have gone up in only one area of Greater Manchester - Bury.
The weekly rates have fallen in eight other boroughs, but have remained the same in Salford.
Trafford continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester.
The borough recorded a rate of 458.4 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending October 31.
The lowest infection rate is in Oldham, where the rate is 275.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 363.7 cases per 100,000 of the population.
That's lower than the national average, which is 411.4 cases per 100,000 people.
The infection rate is higher than the national average in four areas - Trafford, Stockport, Bury and Tameside.
In the week to October 31, 57 people died within 28 days of a positive Covid test across Greater Manchester, which is 15 more than the week before.
In Trafford, there were 1,089 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending October 31, which is 230 fewer than the previous week.
Trafford has the highest infection rate in the region.
The infection rate in Trafford is up slightly compared with the previous day but the week-on-week trend is down by 17 per cent.
Bolton is an area where the trend is down. The latest infection rate here is 284.1 cases per 100,000 people.
There were 819 cases recorded in Bolton, which is 18 fewer than the previous week - or a fall of two per cent.
The trend is down in Rochdale, where there were 897 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending October 31, 171 fewer than the previous week. That is down by 16 per cent compared to the previous week.
The latest infection rate in Rochdale is 401.1 cases per 100,000 people.

There were 1,292 positive tests over the last week in Stockport, which is 235 fewer than in the previous week.
The week-on-week trend in Stockport is down by 15 per cent and the latest infection rate is 439.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Oldham recorded 655 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending October 31, which is 79 fewer than the previous seven days.
The coronavirus infection rate in Oldham is now 275.6 cases per 100,000 people and is down by 11 per cent week-on-week.
Wigan saw a total of 1,291 cases in the week ending October 31, which is 12 fewer than the previous week. That is a fall of one per cent.
In Wigan, the most recent coronavirus infection rate is now 390.4 cases per 100,000 people.
In Bury, the latest infection rate is 436.8 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases has gone up by four per cent.
A total of 833 people tested positive for Covid in Bury over the seven days ending on October 31, 35 more than the week before.
In Manchester, the number of cases is down by four per cent compared to the previous week - leaving the infection rate at 291.1 cases per 100,000 population.
There were 1618 positive Covid-19 tests in Manchester in the week ending October 31, which is 69 fewer than the previous seven days.
The data reveals a levelling out of cases in Salford over the week ending October 31.
Salford recorded 830 positive Covid-19 tests over the seven-day period - the same as the previous week.
Tameside recorded 990 coronavirus cases, which is 71 fewer than in the previous seven days.
The latest infection rate in Tameside is 435.9 cases per 100,000 people - down seven per cent week-on-week.
