Coronavirus cases in schools across Wales have been falling for the last three weeks, but 209 new cases were reported in 47 schools in the week to November 11.
Most of the cases are in primary schools and nearly one in four of all cases were in schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf, data from Public Health Wales shows. Some of the highest rates of coronavirus infection have been reported by PHW in communities in RCT.
But cases have fallen in schools in RCT in the last week as well as in all but two of the 22 local education authority areas. Ceredigion and Wrexham reported rises of two and three cases respectively.
From the start of term to November 11 a total 1,076 staff and 1,326 pupils in 742 schools have tested positive for coronavirus, according to data from Public Health Wales.
In the second week of publishing overall schools Covid data PHW reported that this week's figures compare with 295 cases in the seven to 13 days before that and 514 in the 14 to 21 days before.
To date 47.2% of Wales' 1,573 schools have had coronavirus cases. Of those 305 schools have had only one case.
During the firebreak schools were open but one week was half term and older pupils worked the first week after half term from home - meaning those in year 10 and above were not physically in school between Friday October 24 and Monday November 9, unless they had GCSE resits.
