The latest charts and data on Election 2023

In the lead-up to this year's general election, Newsroom has curated a page of charts and graphics with the key information you need about the state of the campaign. The charts update every hour with the latest available data on the polls and political donations.

Results from the six most recent published polls are presented in the chart below. You can view the figures by individual party or by likely coalition.

Here's what Parliament would look like, based on a rolling average of all polls taken in the last 30 days. This projection assumes Te Pāti Māori wins one electorate and includes an extra seat which will be created by the Port Waikato by-election on November 25.

How do the current polls compare to key previous elections? This chart breaks down how each party was polling the this time in the 2008, 2017 and 2020 election cycles and also presents their ultimate electoral results. You can compare those historic values to the 30-day rolling polling average this year or to a selection of recent individual polls.

With the start of advance voting on October 2, the Electoral Commission is now reporting each day's early vote tally. We'll track the cumulative number of early votes over the two weeks until election day and you can compare that to the two most recent elections below.

Party donations are also starting to come in. By law, parties must report to the Electoral Commission within 10 days of receiving any donation of $20,000 or more. As the commission uploads this data, we'll keep a running tally of how each party's war chest.

A full list of all public donations from this year is available below.
